Outreach Information Services

Outreach Information Serivices (OIS) complements Monday Night Hospitality and other meal programs by facilitating access to social services and mental and physical health checks for guests. 

OIS provides two social workers at Monday and Friday meal programs helping guests better navigate social services, including housing. It also facilitates community health screenings from doctors and residents of the CUNY Medical School, which give our guests an alternative to emergency room facilities. Monthly meditation classes have also been introduced.

In addition to support from Heart and Soul, OIS has run successful crowdfunding campaigns and solicited corporate donations. Recent fundraising efforts have helped to facilitate kitchen upgrades. It has also funded new, more sturdy and comfortable chairs and a new ice maker to help keep our guests cool in the summer.
