"Grants for the Future" Fund Created by the Heart & Soul Charitable FundMonday, February 11, 2008
The true success of the Heart and Soul Charitable fund relies on generous donors who support our outreach programs and efforts. WIth your contributions, we have been able to write grants for many not-for-profits throughout New York City , including the recognized outreach programs: Friday Soup Kitchen, Booker T. Washington Learning Center, Monday Night Hospitality and several neighborhood youth programs.
What many may not know is that there are quite a few not-for-profits that the Heart and Soul Charitable Fund supports. Last year, we wrote grants to 19 not-for-profits in the categories of feeding programs, youth services, neighborhood programs and elderly services. Our future goals include raising the money to be able to write grants to even more organizations - new grantees or those that simply need more help!
One generous, anonymous donor wants to help us reach that goal! This donor has pledged to match 10% of the total bids received at the auction for our existing outreach programs featured in Live Auction lots 3, 6, 10, and 13 - - up to $20,000! - - as long as these programs reach their budgets. In order to accommodate this generous contribution, we created a new General Fund: to be known as the Grants for the Future Fund.
We are excited about all the good we can do with your dedication and this additional funding. We, in turn, pledge to continue to facilitate the development of additional programs to help the neediest populations in New York City.
